Nyeri Children’s Remand Multipurpose Hall

Project Summary

Rotary Club of Nyeri renovated the multipurpose hall at the Nyeri Children's Remand Centre, giving children a better space for learning and constructive activity while they await court hearings.

Community Need

Children at the remand centre needed a more suitable space for learning and indoor activities, so they stay engaged instead of idle while waiting for their court cases to be heard.

What We Did

The Club renovated the hall with new floor tiles, storage cabinets, repainted walls and blackboard, repaired seats, replacement windows, a notice board, a television set and a plaque. Rotaractors from DeKUT and Nyeri National Polytechnic took part. At the handing-over ceremony, presided over by the Immediate Past District Governor, Rotarians and Rotaractors also planted trees in the centre’s compound.
