Create Lasting Impact
Rotary Club of Nyeri
Chartered in 2015, proudly serving Nyeri and the wider Central Highlands Region as part of Rotary International.
Our Story
The Rotary Club of Nyeri (RCN) was chartered and admitted to membership of Rotary International on 29 January 2015, and was subsequently registered under Section 10 of the Societies Act of Kenya on 29 September 2025. The Club was proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Milimani — a relationship that continues to shape RCN’s own commitment to sponsoring new clubs and expanding the Rotary family in turn.
Since its charter, Rotary Club of Nyeri has played a significant role in expanding Rotary’s presence across the Central Highlands Region, currently served by Rtn. PAG Matthew Orcutt as Regional Coordinator. Through sustained effort and mentorship, the Club has successfully chartered the Rotary Club of Karatina, the Interact Club of St. Mary’s Boys, and Rotaract Clubs of Nyeri, Kenya Medical Training College–Nyeri, Nyeri National Polytechnic, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, and Karatina University. District 9216, making a meaningful contribution to expanding Rotary International’s reach — particularly among young people and communities across the region.
District 9216 itself is a newly established district, formed on 1 July 2026 following the redistricting of the former District 9212 into Districts 9215 and 9216. It is currently led by Rtn. Esayas Yeyesuswork, District Governor, and spans Ethiopia, Eritrea, and the Eastern, Central Highlands, Eastern Nairobi, and Coast regions of Kenya — an expanded platform for advancing Rotary’s mission of service across the region, and one that Rotary Club of Nyeri is proud to help shape.

The Object of Rotary
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise, and in particular to encourage and foster:
- The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
- High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
- The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life.
- The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Our aim is simple: create lasting impact, improve the quality of life of individuals and families, and contribute meaningfully to the development and wellbeing of communities within and beyond Nyeri County.
