As part of its ongoing commitment to Maternal and Child Health — one of Rotary’s seven global Areas of Focus — Rotary Club of Nyeri visited Nyeri Hospital to spend time with new and expectant mothers and to donate essential supplies, including diapers and other maternal care items.
Members spent the visit engaging directly with mothers and hospital staff, distributing supplies and learning firsthand about the everyday needs of the maternity ward. Outreach visits like this one are intentionally kept personal and direct — rather than simply dropping off donations, Rotarians take the time to sit with mothers, understand their circumstances, and ensure that what’s provided genuinely meets an immediate need.
Support for maternal and newborn care remains one of the most consistent ways local Rotary clubs contribute to public health outcomes, since even small, practical items can meaningfully ease the burden on new mothers navigating limited hospital resources. Rotary Club of Nyeri intends for this to be an ongoing relationship with the facility rather than a single visit, with future outreach planned as resources allow.
