The Rotary Club of Nyeri gathered for a formal induction ceremony to welcome a new class of members into the club’s fellowship. The evening carried extra significance this year, falling in the same decade that the Rotary Club of Nyeri was first chartered in 2015 under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Milimani—a reminder of how far the club has grown since those early days.
The ceremony followed Rotary’s traditional format: the Club President opened proceedings with a welcome to members, guests, and family, followed by the formal induction oath in which each new member pledged their commitment to Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self and to the principles of the Four-Way Test. Guests heard remarks on what membership means in practice — not simply attending meetings, but actively contributing time, expertise, and leadership to the club’s ongoing work across its seven Areas of Focus.
The evening closed with dinner and fellowship, giving new members their first informal opportunity to connect with longtime Rotarians, hear about ongoing projects, and begin identifying where their own skills and interests might contribute. Several new inductees have since gone on to join active project committees.
